The Reasons for Selection

QD Japan is a company established in 2022 with the aim of “contributing to energy security” and has been developing technologies to “generate energy from the benefit of solar energy inexpensively and safely anywhere in the world. And now, we have been recognized for having reached the stage where its technology can be commercialized.

QD Japan CTO Yutaka Tamaura, Professor Emeritus of TIT, was involved in the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park” project, the world’s largest power plant built by the UAE for the introduction of solar thermal power generation. With such deep ties to the land, he has returned with new technologies, and our business concept that its products will be mass-produced in the UAE and spread around the world has been highly evaluated.

CTO Tamaura has been selected as the Japanese Champion at the 4th Annual Ministerial Meeting (MI-4) of Mission Innovation (*2) in Vancouver, Canada in 2019. The research and development evaluated at that meeting led to the selection for the “Make it in the Emirates Forum”.

(*2)Mission Innovation; an international initiative to promote innovation in the energy sector, proposed at the COP21 to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Paris in 2015 and launched in 2016. It aims to strengthen each participating country’s commitment to energy innovation and accelerate research and development of clean energy technologies.
